Character study
Feb. 15th, 2006 03:06 amThe challenge was to write something rated PG or lower using the keyword "tight". This was to be a deliberate challenge of my skills, to see if I could control my own pervy mental habits and write something decent. So I sat down at my computer, took a deep breath, and started writing. Needless to say, I failed. Big time. But I'd like to share this with y'all anyway. It's supposed to be from Robin's POV.
Title: Hunter
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Zoro, Sanji, Ace...AcZo-San?
Word Count: 303
Topic: Observations...it's not an entry. Forgive me...-_-
Disclaimer: The Powers that be should be glad I don't own this...yeesh.
There is a marked difference in the way they hunt. Each has a distinctive style perfectly suited for his personality. They do have a few things in common: they’re all clever, patient, and most devastating of all, they know how good they are.
Zoro is like a large jungle cat. He sits, watching with wild eyes that burn from leagues away. He is sinew and sweat; his mussed hair and bunched muscle just dare you to reach out and touch. It’s a power that terrifies as much as it attracts. When he gets up and stalks towards you, the fear and the desire work together to freeze you in place until he finally takes you down.
Sanji acts more like a spider. He spends a lot of time building a silken web of mystery around himself; an almost invisible trap of cool intrigue and subtle signal. You don’t even realize you’ve gotten tangled until you find yourself unable to stray from him. Then, with a trail of smoke trailing behind him, he wraps himself tight around you. Afterwards, all you can do is wait, helpless, until he decides when to finish his meal.
Ace is a Venus flytrap. Strange and exotic, he seems like little more than another attraction, and that’s how he likes it. He’ll draw you in with the promise of heady indulgence, and because he seems so open, you feel safe indulging in what he has to offer. By the time you see the wickedness behind the smile or the sin in his eyes, it’s too late. All that awaits you now is a slow, sweet death.
I’ve studied these great hunters at length, and what intrigues me is that now they have all decided to try and hunt each other. The results of this tryst will be most fascinating.

Date: 2006-02-15 11:07 pm (UTC)I very much liked this one-- You described each one of them very well, and, hot damn I would have never thought to compare Ace to that, and yet? It worked so bloody well.
...Congratulations on successfully making me blush. XD
