He scratched idly behind his ear as he watched the two men bickering on the deck of the Going Merry. It really was quite interesting to watch sometimes, if only in an analytical point of view. A swift kick here, a jab of swords there, always interspersed with some colorful language and verbal sparring.
Then the whole scene would calm down, with never a victor in sight, and begin again in some different locale, at some different time. No two battles started to same way. A broken dish once, did the trick. Another time it was a careless clatter of a beloved katana hitting the deck.
It never really took much, but the end result was always spectacular. And though he may cower in the corner during each and every disagreement, the tiny doctor never missed a scuffle. He loved to watch the strength and power each man displayed in these moments. Sometimes he wished that he, too, had a rival on this floating home in the sea. A person to test himself against. To always have nearby incase he needed to blow off some steam.
Then sometimes, Chopper wondered if it wasn’t all some kind of elaborate type of foreplay.
