A.K.A. Dear Diary...
Zoro flipped through the leather-bound book he discovered hidden under Sanji’s spare shoes in the bottom of the closet. It looked like some kind of journal, with some of the pages filled with recipes and others with love poems. These he ignored; in fact, he would have just quit reading altogether and replaced the book before the cook could realize it had been moved if one entry in particular had not caught his attention.
“I had the dream again,” the entry read. “Strong hands that hold me down and lift me up are everywhere. They leave trails of fire where they touch my skin, and even though I burn, I’m unhurt. I take a hand to kiss it, and then both are wrapped around my throat. The lips that go with the hands are brought to mine. They’re as sharp as razors, but it’s not my body that gets cut...”
The next sentences were illegible from smudges and cross-outs, but he thought he caught the words, “want more,” repeated several times. It was while he was trying to decipher the scrawl that Sanji stumbled over him.
“Stop loafing in the way, stupid mar—“ The cook’s face drained of all color as he noticed the book. “Fucking bastard, what the hell do you think you’re doing? Give me that!” He jerked the journal out of Zoro’s hands and lashed out with a kick that sent the surprised swordsman flying across the deck.
“Cook-san needs to find a better hiding place for his diary.” Robin said without looking up from her own book.
“Stupid bastard should know better than to think there’s any privacy on this boat.” Zoro grunted, sitting up and glaring at her. Robin only smiled.
“Perhaps that’s not the kind of invasion of privacy he was worried about…”
