Nami didn’t exactly know why Luffy asked her about how to be a good thief, and really she didn’t care. Luffy logic escaped her on even her best day. She did, however, care about the 10,000 beris he agreed to pay her, and he agreed to pay for drinks.
“Now the first and most important skill you can have is how to read people.” She finished taking a long gulp from her glass. “For example, that guy over there,” she pointed to a man across the bar. “He is hiding something, probably an affair, from his wife.”
She pinched Luffy’s lips shut before he could say anything, dealing with the mumbled noises that he managed to get around his closed lips.
“You can tell because he keeps fidgeting, and if you look, he has a tan-line where a wedding ring should be. And that lady out there, she may look rich, but she doesn’t have too much. The jewelry is most likely fake, and while nice, the dress is starting to show wear.”
Luffy quickly shut his mouth when he saw Nami’s hand reaching over.
“Now that guy outside…”
Nami’s words trailed off when she realized who “that guy” was: Sanji, with very wrinkled clothing and a strange smile on his face. Following about ten feet behind was Zoro, looking just as disheveled and with a similar smile.
Before Nami could think of how to use this to her advantage she heard Luffy begin to yell.
“Hey Sanji….”
