sherrymarie and
vejiita4eva. Just because.
The sound of his knife hitting the cutting board seemed to echo off of the galley walls.
It was wrong, the silence. And so… big. Too immense for such a trivial thing. And there was nothing he could do about it.
It continued all day, broken not by Luffy’s demands for his stomach to be filled or Chopper’s laughter over yet another future weapon blowing up in Usopp’s face. Not even the melodious voices of his lovely ladies served to shatter the quiet bubble that should be filled with clanks and grunts and booted feet knocking against the deck. And nobody else seemed to notice it.
After he finished the after dinner clean up, he went to find the brainless swordsman, intent on seeing just what was important enough that a whole day of training be missed.
Zoro’s back was to him, and Sanji made an effort to bring his feet down harder, in case he’d fallen asleep standing up. No complaints came. No Dartboard Brow. No Bastard Cook. Zoro never even lifted his eyes from the sword, the white one, that he’d propped up against the railing. And Sanji found himself grinding his dying cigarette between his teeth in frustration.
It was dark and late and Chopper had already left for his turn at watch when Zoro finally came to bed. Sanji was pretending to be asleep. Zoro grunted and, in a display of stunning grace, fell into the hammock on top of Sanji. Sanji shifted left and heard Zoro bitching about his damn bony elbows and kicked Zoro’s sockless feet off of his because they were cold. And he knew that whatever today had been about, tomorrow would find things normal again.

Date: 2006-04-17 01:16 am (UTC)Yeah, I'm thinking that, too.
Though, it seem to me that he pay her tribute by training twice as hard, instead of not at all...?
A cute story, nonetheless! Poor, confused Sanji-kun...

Date: 2006-04-17 10:55 am (UTC)The entire concept was very touching and something that I can actually see happening. However, my favorite part:
Zoro grunted and, in a display of stunning grace, fell into the hammock on top of Sanji.
Just shows that everything is back to normal. ^_^

Date: 2006-04-17 02:54 pm (UTC)I liked that part too. Because you just know Zoro isn't any kind of considerate bed mate. But since Sanji gives as good as he gets, it all evens out in the end.

Date: 2006-04-17 06:17 pm (UTC)And the ending, these guys aren't touchy-feely. So, they don't need more than that little arguement to confirm that everything is back to fine.
Thank you for the comments.
