More than one out of me this week too, it seems. I apologize for the fluff.

Title: Happiness
Word Count: 300 exactly.

Pairing: Light nakamashipping, Luffy/Zoro gropage.
Topic: Routines and Rituals.


“Look!” Luffy pointed excitedly at a speck on the horizon.

Usopp looked up, squinted, then lowered his sniper goggles for a better look. Probably a bird or something, but…

…well, damn, it was an island. Even as he and Luffy shouted the news back at the rest of the crew, he had to wonder how Luffy had spotted it with the naked eye.

Then it was Nami shouting orders and the normal controlled chaos that preceded a landing, punctuated by Sanji’s cries of “Yes, sir, Nami-swan!” and Luffy stretching across the deck to grab Zoro in a rather inappropriate place to wake him up. Usopp hauled on his designated rope and felt someone pat his cheek before a second set of hands joined his. Six months ago, Usopp would have been hard-pressed to maintain his captainly composure if a second set of arms had sprouted out of his shoulders, but now it was just part of the way things were.

Once they were pointed in the right direction, it was less crazy, but no quieter. Robin talking about what she knew about the island they were coming up on. Chopper declaring that he wanted to go hunting for herbs and giggling when Robin tickled him and said she’d help. Zoro snorting and going back to sleep until Sanji kicked him and told him to quit being lazy and go get the anchor ready. Sanji and Zoro fighting until Nami hit them both and told them to cut it out. Luffy crowing happily from the figurehead and saying he could see trees.

Usopp leaned his head against the railing and listened to Merry’s creaks and the sound of the hull cutting through the water. She sounded happy, just like the people on board.

Good. Usopp wouldn’t have it any other way.

DAWW. Just... just DAAW. SO AWESOME. So much nakamashipness in this piece, and it's really funny and sweet in places. Luffy groping Zoro was just... SO LUFFY. ROFL. And Robin growing arms out of Usopp was great, too.

YES! The nakamaship, their dynamic, the sheer HAPPINESS AND FREEDOM rolling off your words - just fantastic. The Usopp POV is wonderfully written, and it's a nice opportunity to see the Going Merry's interaction with the mugiwara crew. And of course, Zoro gropage = win. I love the casual, passing way you wrote about their activities, too. It seems like something they'd all do, not putting that much long, extended thought into their actions. Great job! I really enjoyed reading this.
