Rating: G. Yes, it's fluff. Horrible, horrible fluff.
Pairing: Zoro/Luffy.
Topic: Wet.
Zoro sat beside Luffy on the beach, watching Sanji and Usopp splash around in the waves like morons. Nice day. Nice island. Nice beach. Very conducive to napping. He lay back on the sand and closed his eyes.
His captain’s quiet sigh caught him just before he dozed off. Zoro cracked open an eye. Luffy looked a little wistful, staring at those two idiots running around in the water. Kind of like Luffy wished he could join them, because it looked like they had a decent waterfight going.
Water. Seawater. Crap. And having bothered to pause his nap and note that something was wrong with his captain, he could not, in all honor, refuse to deal with it. Zoro grumbled internally and sat back up.
Luffy blinked at him for a second. Zoro got his feet back under him, picked up the rubber man, and slung him over his shoulder, ignoring Luffy’s startled squawk.
In the time it took him to get down to the waterline, Luffy had figured out what was happening and had squirmed around until he was sitting on Zoro’s shoulders, hands buried in Zoro’s spiky green hair.
As Zoro waded into the surf and towards the other two pirates, he muttered, “Happy now?” to his impromptu shoulder adornment.
Luffy leaned forward until he could look Zoro in the eye (well, upside down, anyway) and grinned impossibly wide. “Yes.”
“You’d better be. You’ll be lucky if I don’t drop you.”
“I know you won’t let me get wet.” Luffy kissed Zoro on the forehead, making the swordsman blush horribly. Right in front of the Love Cook too.
Stupid rubber bastard. Small wonder he always got his way.
