Words: 174
Topic: Little Things
Pairing: Eh, they're there but I'm allergic to revealing them pre-fic. ;_;
More words: I've been fooling with this since the topic started, and since I'm nearing deadline I wanted to push this one out the door. :x I bit it at the title. That happens when I do it last.
Spontaneity, whimsy, abandon; boundless energy beating new paths.
Strength, determination, loyalty; from trained stance to composed walk.
Smaller, then larger. Sometimes timid and frantic, other times eager, yet always watchful.
Straight for the most part, but planted harder and spaced evenly at sudden intervals, then back again. Order and assertion.
Solid and confident, remaining casual while on the beaten path. Lighter when nearing one set, harsher and deeper next to another.
Active and boisterous, yet sometimes hesitant. Running away and returning not quite as quickly.
Even, calm; the most collected of them. Serene enough from sight and depth, but long intervals of detachment speak of something deeply hidden.
Footprints are like shadows; as the latter won't grow longer on its own without the sun there to extend it, so do the marks on the beach remain as only a small, finite reminder that someone was there, until others gather and meld into one misshapen, unified track.
Wherever their footprints may stray, they always come back together before reaching the end of the sand.
