As I lost a bet, I owed
ptps one (1) Luffy/Usopp drabble. Here it is. Sorry it's short.
Title: Artistic Pretensions
Word Count: 163.
Rating: G like whoa.
Pairing: Luffy/Usopp fluffery.
Topic: Off!
Usopp wasn’t quite sure what Luffy had just shoved under his nose.
Whatever it was, it involved his best paints, and Nami’s special paper. Presumably Nami hadn’t discovered the theft, or they’d all know about it by now. But still, his best paints. The ones he’d been carefully and sparingly using since he’d picked them up in Alabasta.
At least he’d learned some interesting things about blending. Puce and saffron, for instance, made a color so ugly his eyes literally refused to properly perceive it. There were some patches of stunningly beautiful color choice and linework, but they seemed to be accidental byproducts of the main work. Ultramarine and vermilion, citrine and zinnober, and an odd smear of nacarat and jacinthe that actually reminded him a lot of Nami’s hair.
That smear allowed Usopp to correctly guess what the painting was. His artist’s soul wept, but Usopp the Liar hugged his grinning captain tight and said, “What a lovely portrait of the crew!”
