“I’m here to escort the Straw Hat crew to the city prison,” the young Marine adjusted her glasses slightly. “By order of Captain Smoker.”

As she’d expected, invoking the name of their commanding officer made them all hop to. It was easy in the confusion to ensure that Wadou Ichimonji made it into her hands.

“Sign here please, Sergeant-Major Tashigi.”

She scribbled her signature on the proffered form and let the man read it.

“Um, Sergeant-Major, this isn’t your name.”

“Yes, it is.”

Wadou came around quickly and knocked the man into his friends.

“Don’t worry,” Roronoa Kuina smiled and stepped over their unconcious bodies. “I used the back side of the blade.”

“As skilled as always,” her captain laughed as she unlocked her crewmates’ manacles. “That’s our... OW!”

He rubbed his head where his swordswoman and cook had both smacked him

“Captain,” Kuina said severely. “Is it really too much to ask for you to stay out of trouble for MORE THAN ONE HOUR??!!”

“But I wanted to see the execution platform!”

“YOU GRABBED THE MARINE CAPTAIN’S ASS IN PUBLIC!!! WITHIN ONE HOUR OF LANDING!!! ONE HOUR!!!”

“We haven’t even re-provisioned yet!” Their cook spoke up. “How do you expect me to fill that bottomless pit you call a stomach if I can’t even shop?!”

“There’s always your mikan.”

Nojiko bopped him over the head again. “THOSE ARE FOR EMERGENCIES!!!”

“Now, now,” Kaya, ever the peacemaker, stepped in. “I’m sure the Captain didn’t mean to get us all in trouble.”

“The doctor is right,” their navigator broke in. “The Captain always has our best interests at heart!”

Kuina and Nojiko exchanged a look. Koby’s huge man-crush on the Captain was kind of cute, but considering the events since they’d shown up in Loguetown, he didn’t have a hope in hell.

Nojiko arched an eyebrow thoughtfully at Kaya. Kuina wrinkled her nose.

“Aww... it’s not my fault that Smoker guy can’t take a joke,” the Captain settled his infamous Straw Hat more securely on his head. “Anyway, we should probably get out of here while the getting’s good, right?” He grinned at them roguishly.

Portgas D. Ace always lit up the room when he grinned.

“So, back to the ship! Next stop, the Grand Line!”

Koby and Kaya cheered and took off after their Captain, with Nojiko and Kuina laughing and following along behind. They all had heavy burdens to carry with them, but their steps were light as they ran.

They took all their dreams with them.

God, I don't know whether to be happy that this went over the limit so that I can comment or mad that it went over the limit so it's not in the running, because this was fan-fucking-tastic!

omg squeeeeeeeeee!! XDDD This was SO AWESOME. I love how Kuina made use of her look to act as Tashigi. (Roronoa Kuina? She married to Zoro or his sister or something?) I really liked how the relaetd people to the actual strawhats formed this entire crew, it's jst so... so SQUEE. ♥

Sadly, Kuina took his name after his death to honour him (in much the same way Zoro took her sword in the real version). Glad you liked it! There's a couple more parts up on the com now, and a link to the contents page with the other stuff (I decided not to put it all on here as that would totally spam things).

You win. ^_^ The whole crew dynamic here is great and anything where Ace grabs Smoker's but is awesome in my book. This makes me wonder what our canon crew would think of their counterparts though. I totally see them MST3K-ing this somehow. XD

The canon crew would probably be critiquing, except for Sanji who would be completely jealous that Ace has more girls on the crew. :-)

Love Kuina pretending to be Tashigi (their first meeting was probably hilarious :D), all the crew members, Ace definitely being Luffy's brother and wanting to see the execution platform, the things that changed and the things that stayed the same. Definitely seconding any requests for further stories in this universe.
