“Hey, you’re pretty good at this,” Ace complimented the boy. “You got us to our destination and everything.”
“Of course I did!” Koby said indignantly. “That’s the minimum requirement for people who sail the seas! Ace-san, if you keep just randomly floating around, you’ll never become a pirate. You should get a navigator!”
“Yeah, I should,” Ace pondered briefly, and then grinned at the boy. “How about you? Want the job?”
Koby felt himself flush clear to the roots of his hair as Ace stood over him, tall and majestic, with his muscled chest bare to the elements.
Marines, he reminded himself. I have a dream. To join the Marines and fight injustice and villainy! And pirates! Remember the dream!!!
“Ummm... I’ll think about it.”
A/N: Koby clearly has much stronger willpower than we all thought.

And Usopp's death really hurt, yeah, he's grown to be one of my favorite characters in the series. T__T b This is such a awesome AU!
