As the last of the locks clicked open, the infamous thief, Straw Hat, gave a wide, lopsided grin. The Maltese Piece was his.

Or not. Reaching in to the safe, he pulled out a diagram and some codes. Frowning, he adjusted the brim of the straw hat he wore on his head as he looked at it. Realizing it was coded information about the actual location of the Maltese Piece, he grinned again and turned to leave. He hadn't had a lucky break like this in a long time. Crocodile, disgustingly ruthless crime lord, hadn't found it yet, just some information about it's whereabouts. Whistling, he put his foot down on the ground.

The second his foot touched the ground alarms went off, sirens blared, bars went down. Shit! How could he have been so careless! Of course Crocodile would have rather catch, anyone who had any knowledge of the Maltese Piece. Shit, how the hell was he going to get out of this?!





Smirking, Crocodile laughed as he ordered his cronies to open the vault. He had done it; he'd caught the elusive Straw Hat! And what he would do to him would more than make up for the embarrassment and humiliation the brat had caused him in the past.

"Open it," He ordered, already envisioning what he would do to the boy who had dared challenge him.

Unable to help himself from leaning forward with anticipation as his cronies, Mr. 1 and Mr. 2 opened the vault; he sneered and looked in at... absolutely nothing.

Paling, he sputtered, "Don't just stand there! Find him!"

Crocodile stared ahead, focused on the vault. "One day," Crocodile growled, "One day you'll slip up and no one will be there to save you. And when that day comes, you will be mine."
