Dedicated to Vamp: because she posted right before I was planning on going to bed and inspired me to suck it up and pound out something for this topic.

EDIT: Even though the judging took place between me opening up the posting page and actually posting.  XD

Title: Mine
Rating: PG
Word Count: 300
Pairing: Zoro/Sanji
Topic: Territory
Notes: Even though I've decided my place in this fandom is more along the lines of encouraging the wonderful authors around me... I continue trying my hand at this "writing" thing periodically. Unfortunately my ideas refuse to move away from character introspection and include little to no actual interesting action... Oops?

************************

Zoro was usually a standoffish type of person, not very physical or affectionate.

Of course, like any good rule, there were exceptions.

The first was, of course, his weapons. Calloused hands would often drop to the swords at his waist; not even in the threatening I'm-about-to-turn-into-your-worst-demonic-nightmare way, but just when he was thinking... or attempting to. Sanji harped that the things were practical like fucking puppies to him, petting and polishing them all the time.

The other exception was Luffy. Zoro would of course snatch him out of the water any time the situation demanded it, but the swordsman would sometimes just pick him up. It usually involved throwing him to the other end of the ship… but not always out of irritation. When given a sufficiently manly opportunity he would even ruffle his captain’s hair, or pat him on the shoulder.

Admittedly his pats were much less friendly towards Sanji, but it was slowly becoming obvious that they were there. Obvious that there was no way Zoro was clumsy enough to accidentally brush against the cook so often. Obvious that every time a sparing session degenerated into a wrestling match it was because Zoro had set aside his swords and lunged first. Maybe even obvious that Zoro didn’t flip the strands of blond hair just because Sanji found it to be the most annoying thing under the sun… maybe. Having a weakness for soft golden hair wasn’t something many people would expect of the World’s Greatest Swordsman after all.

But it all came down to the fact that Zoro was a very tactile person when it came to things he considered his.

Sanji was joining the ranks, next to his swords and Luffy, as things Zoro liked to reassure himself were still there.

His swords.

His Captain.

His Cook.

Yay! I inspired something with my last-minute spammage of the board! *cheers*

But it all came down to the fact that Zoro was a very tactile person when it came to things he considered his. :D I love it when writers approach Zoro this way. It just seems so... him. And of course it's darn cute too.

a weakness for soft golden hair *wiggles happily* So sweet!

And hey, while we definitely appriciate your encouragement (I know there's been quite a few times when you've just said something that's totally made me feel 100% better about stuff in general), I agree with _paperpencil. Throw us a little bit of your writing more often, ne? Much love!

Oh, the community. It's eaten our souls...

It's amazing the joy we get from this hodgepodge of OP fans, ne? I've found more fun and camaraderie online with these people in the past few months than I've ever had elsewhere. Us One Piece perverts fangirls/guys have to stick together... XD

stuff and nonsense. your grammar/punctuation are good, your ideas are engaging, your imagery is vivid, and your characterization is spot on. there's no reason for you to be less than fully confident in others' enjoyment of your work.

heehee...i'm a grammar-nazi. (though not a capitalization-nazi obviously...) i can't read something if there are too many errors, no matter how good the story might be.

^__^' I'm just remember when I tried making my first post. I worked for hours and hours, plugging away, and 4 a.m. rolls around, and the drabble was over with. I wasn't sure if I should post or not so I didn't. But people seem to make "off" posts all the time so perhaps it never to late then...?

Oh! Oh! And that fic I've been working on, it seems to be going somewhere! I've finally worked out the start of the plot so they get from point A to point C in an understandable way. ^__^

Let's trade jobs, 'cause this was cute and fluffy in the way Zoro is cute and fluffy. That is, not very, and it's all the sweeter for it ♥.

Aww, Zoro shouldn't worry too much about that. I'm sure Mihawk has his own fetishes and such.

<3, can I friend you
