Word Count: 300
Pairings: Sanji/Zoro
Topic: Time
Disclaimer: I do not own OP and its characters.
Summary: Zoro is sick and Sanji angsts? Feedback is greatly appreciated.
There were days where no one would suspect that Roronoa Zoro had contracted a critical illness. A disease that would come out of submission, takeover his body, and rampage its disastrous effects. He faltered, stopped eating, bled from wounds that had healed years ago.
Today was not of those days.
They rested on a beach of an island they found on the Grand line, Zoro’s warmth nestled in his lap. As he snored softly in the lazy sun, Sanji wrapped his arms around the swordsman’s waist.
Sanji watched as one of the bandages on Zoro’s abdomen turned from stark white to a dull crimson as the wound began to bleed. Zoro let out a whimper, not loud enough to overcome the oceans’ music, but Sanji felt the rumble of the swordsman’s chest as he struggled in discomfort.
The cook cooed into the swordsman’s ears. Sweet nothings and promised comforts. He stroked the brow of the man strung in-between his legs as his other hand wrapped tighter around the body.
Zoro would beat this sickness one day because that’s what he did, overcoming the impossible. He will live a long life. Sanji was going to make sure of it. Because the blood staining his arms, the way the swordsman scowled in discomfort, and panted in ragged breaths…
It was his fault.
It was his responsibility.
As Sanji watched over Zoro something began to ache in his chest, to see the swordsman suffer...hurt. Somehow along the way he had fallen for this great idiotic swordsman.
He pressed his forehead into Zoro’s shoulder, wiping the sudden shame in his eyes. Breathing deeply as he felt the rumble of Zoro’s body coughing, spasms becoming violent because of the pain, Sanji’s grip grew tighter.
To think, it was only one time, a drunken mistake.

Date: 2006-08-13 04:01 pm (UTC)Truthfully, in the longer fic it's a sickness that I made up, but it resembles AIDs a great deal in this drabble. How it's contracted, the effects and characteristics are completly different in the longer fic, I just can't explain it all in 300 words. lol...

Date: 2006-08-13 04:34 pm (UTC)Yeah, it does sound a lot like it in this fic, doesn't matter really, as you said lol. And I'll keep writing, even if I enjoy reading more (so much less brain cramps).
