Frozen Time (PG) Sanji/Zoro
Aug. 15th, 2006 11:59 amThis is my very first OP drabble (not counting the one where they have to go pee during a battle, only
ptps has had the honour of reading that atrocity XD) and my very first post here on OPY100! :D Please enjoy, and if you see me breaking any grammar/vocab/whatever rules, feel free to gently rant about it. ;)
Title: Frozen Time
Rating: PG
Word Count: Word tells me it's 299!
Pairing: Sanji/Zoro (I guess, no one really TOPS)
Topic: Time (and I am forced to say, like so many before me, "just barely.")
A thick, folded up blanket landed heavily on his shoulders and Sanji’s lithe frame settled beside him on the bench.
“You’re such a dumbass, you know that?” The cook sighed and stared at the mug of hot cocoa in Zoro’s hands.
“Hrn,” was the grunted reply. It wasn't like he’d never done it before! He’d tried it not too long ago on Drum Island and nothing had happened then! Well, not much. When Zoro had seen the icebergs floating around on the sea before them, the challenge had been too tempting to pass up. So he'd dived in half naked, and then the wind-factor had taken its toll on his soaked head, and the rest had been history; meaning Sanji had had to jump in and save him (Luffy was useless in water, and Usopp was useless with his “I-get-flesh-eating-rashes-if-I-go-in-water-below-20-degrees” illness.)
Now he sat in the galley, nursing a hot mug and frowning at the sweet scent of cocoa.
“You gonna use that blanket or just sit there like a statue?” the blonde inquired.
Zoro set the mug down and reached for the material lying across his shoulders. Numb hands fumbled with the thick folds and managed to drop everything into his lap after a few unsuccessful attempts. The green-haired man made a sour face and resumed staring at his quickly-cooling beverage.
“Gimme that, Marimo-head,” the cook chuckled. Swatting away the cumbersome hands lying across the blanket, he picked it up and with long, deft fingers unfolded it and draped it around his swordsman’s shoulders. Tucking the corners in so it wouldn’t fall off, he leaned over Zoro’s shoulder and whispered: “You fail at swimming in freezing water, you fail at putting on a blanket. It’s about time you proved you don’t fail in bed… I have a Marimo who needs heating up.”
Thank you to
ptps for beta-ing, and sorry for the 70 million edits. I posted this all wrong. lol
Priscilla made me post it! :O I USUALLY DRAW, I don't know what I'm doing here.

Date: 2006-08-15 04:01 pm (UTC)ifwhen Zoro eventually defeats Mihawk Sanji will probably DIE. Unless Sanji finds All Blue first, in which case Zoro would be dead. Or armless. Or just get pwnt by really weakass Marines while everybody laughs at him...This has been your random reply for the day! Thank you for subscribing to Yuki's RR Inc.

Date: 2006-08-15 06:18 pm (UTC)or the crew finds out he's Zoro's bottom-boy, or giant spiders of doom attack and someone has to save him,or he’s the prize in the fight for World’s Best Swordsman! Then Zoro winning and Sanji (winning) sucking at life would be one and the same!... Luckily there are lots of ways for Sanji to "die" without really dying. Therefore, Rule Number One of the Strawhat Cavalry Brigade still stands!

Date: 2006-08-15 06:25 pm (UTC)Oh GOD, Nami telling Sanji his cooking sucks... he would totally fling himself overboard or some other melodrama. And we WILL find out soon enough about the wanted posters. ^__^ I HOPE SANJI GETS ONE!!!
Oh, and I kinda need an editor... 0_0

Date: 2006-08-15 06:36 pm (UTC)I VOLUNTEER! If you'll have me. ^^
Just give me a general sense of what you want out of it. I'd do anything from pure grammar/spelling to help with phrasing/pacing stuff all the way up to plot/character suggestions if you think you want/need it. ^_^

Date: 2006-08-15 04:06 pm (UTC)I really liked this line: “nursing a hot mug and frowning at the sweet scent of cocoa.” It stirs my awwww sense and makes me wish I could draw.
