A/N: Timetravel, one of my bulletproof kinks. This is an awesome topic.
As soon as Luffy reached the One Piece, he knew. Before he had seen it, he had been dreading the end of his journey. The idea of finishing his travels without ever attaining his dream was like a weight threatening to send him through land and soil to the bottom of both earth and sea. All his nakama had come upon their dreams, All Blue, the Greatest Swordsman, the best Doctor, the Greatest Warrior; mapping the world… He was terribly proud of them all. Robin-chan had gotten hers only five minutes ago, the last big hulking slab of stone now catalogued in her collection. She was nearly sparkling as they stood in front of it.
As for Luffy, he wasn’t the Pirate King yet. Notorious, but he wasn’t *it*. Except. Now… now he understood.
The dusty looking straw hat, identical to his own, down to the scraps and cuts, lay innocently on top of the stone tablet.
“Luffy… this- this isn’t a weapon…”
Luffy grinned, dusting off the old hat. “I know Robin-chan. Isn’t it great?” He put his own in the hat’s place, proudly putting the older one on his head.
One Piece truly was the greatest treasure in the world. The mountains of gold and riches didn’t matter at all. Time however, was worth more than anything else in the world.
“Ne, minna, will you come with me?”
“Where?” Zoro asked suspiciously before answering, “Yes.”
Sanji caught on much sooner. “Che, now I know where All Blue it is, I can find it again.”
“I can’t leave you idiots by yourselves.” Nami muttered.
“You have to go backwards to go forward,” Usopp spoke wisely.
“Me too.” Chopper agreed.
Luffy looked at Robin, she gave him a solid nod. “I want to experience history.”
The weapon activated with an earth shaking rumble.
Somewhere in the distant past, or perhaps in the distant future, Gold. D. Rogers grinned his last grin, the smile of a man who didn’t regret a single moment of his life (both of them).
After all, it had been fun the first time around, the second was going to be twice as good.
At the same moment as that grin was etched onto the execution stand, the first leaf of the Gomu Gomu plant sprouted from the ground, under the safe cover of a well preserved straw hat.

The Beginning.
A/N: Fairly obvious but I HAD to do it.
*insert Futurama joke of Luffy-is-his-own-grandfather joke here*
*insert touching montage of Usopp taking Chopper back with him to Kaya... just after Usopp-the-younger left, so they can be one happy doctoring family*
*insert action flick of Sanji and Zoro retiring to All Blue wherein Sanji cooks and Zoro stumbles upon a young, Spanish guitar player named Mihawk who wants to learn to cook, be the greatest swordsman but also have the cunning ability to woo women with his awesome musical skills and knowledge of fine wines. (He was playing homage to the Baratie that first time around, but got... distracted.)*
*insert comedic episode of Shanks tripping on his face over a plant in the ground which saved him from a wandering bullet. It's how he got his lucky hat... among other things.*
*insert THRILLING underwater escapades of Robin commissioning the folks of Arlong Park to build underwater catchments in the Ohara seas*
Happy endings all around, except Nami who is now head honcho of the World Government (like you doubted this.)

... from at least my point of view a lot of the nakamaships I write always have that oddly-touching-crack feeling for me. One Piece IS complete crack, but one of the main driving points of it for me is that the fun never stops, they can be happy forever (heaven forbid One Piece ever turning into Naruto pseudo-angst). I know if One Piece ever ended, I would just. Break down and cry.
My dream is that Oda becomes immortal and never loses his sense of humour and humanism.
... with the events of the current manga right now, I reallyreally like the idea of Robin being happy. *g*

"THIS IS AWESOME." He whirls around happily.
"Is it just me, or do I feel a sudden need to raise Gold Rogers from the dead and kill him again?" Nami said aloud.
"I'm trying not to die imagining Gold Rogers in that." Zoro muttered.
"LOOK NAMI! IT FITS TWO!" And now Luffy and Chopper were BOTH in the swimsuit. "SUPER COMBO... ATTACK!" *Ultraman pose*

Whitebeard, who was good friends with Roger, would've taken Ace on because he reminded him so much of Roger, and then Ace introduces Whitebeard to his little brother and everything starts making a lot of sense... And Roger could've given Shanks the hat while saying, "When I was a child, you told me to give this to you after I became the Pirate King..." And they visit Skypeia again and Robin leaves a carving that Luffy dictates for herself to find....

Plus, they have to get back to East Blue somehow

OMG THE HAPPY!!! This week has been pure joy seeing everyone come up with ways that THE ADVENTURE NEVER ENDS (or at least lasts a really long time). SO MUCH LOVE!!!!
And the thought of young!Mihawk being mentored by Sanji in the fine art of cooking and Zoro in the manly art of swordplay PWNS MY SOUL!
he's young and inexperience, in the presence of two older, sexually adventurous men...AND YOU EVEN ENDED IT WITH "THE BEGINNING" JUST TO DRIVE MY JOY ONE NOTCH HIGHER! HERE, HAVE MY SOUL~!

I've grown very fond of Mihawk after the fics being thrown about this month, it amuses NO END to have all his smug experience and toppiness thrown on it's head.
