All Blue and Rainbow Colours
Aug. 16th, 2006 09:27 amTitle: Seeing in Colour
Topic: Time
Word Count: 200
Rating: G, I think
Pairing: beginning San/Zo? or nakamaship, I suppose
Disclaimer: Not mine. Probably just as well. Here, have them back...
Summary: It's about the journey, not the destination.
Excuse: New LJ-account, new community, new poster, even a new fandom. Be glad I've written before! ;)
And... It's not the drabble I originally wanted to write for this topic. Sanji insisted, however, and wouldn't leave me alone until I did. His POV.
~~~
Don't know when it happened.
Somewhere along the Line, all those pieces of Blue started blending together. All Blue became not so much a dream as a memory, of all the places we've been and all the things we've seen. Together.
Every new sea had its accompanying rainbow. Luffy's bold red ribbon and golden straw crown. Nami-swan's fiery orange locks. Ussop's quavering brown knees, Chopper's bouncing pink hat, the sombre purple glinting from Robin's hair. And green. Green was always a good sign. As long as I could see your stupid green head somewhere, I knew all was well.
This morning we found it. The real thing.
Nami-swan shouted for me. Luffy babbled excitedly while Chopper squeaked at Usopp's boastful proclamations. Even Robin raised soft-voiced words of wonderment, as they all rushed for the rail.
My dream.
It was oddly anticlimactic.
Until you stepped up behind me, put a light hand on my shoulder, and murmured, "About time, huh?" in my other ear.
You must've jumped a foot off the deck when I laid my hand over yours to keep you there, but I leaned back anyway, until there was green in the corner of my vision. "Yeah. About time."
Date: 2006-08-16 04:01 pm (UTC)And I’m a total sucker for this concept: “Somewhere along the Line, all those pieces of Blue started blending together. All Blue became not so much a dream as a memory, of all the places we've been and all the things we've seen. Together.” And the last paragraph = love. The thought of Sanji leaning back until he can see green... mmmm. Pure understated happy.
Date: 2006-08-16 08:42 pm (UTC)Your comments don't make me happy at all!Glad you like it! It kinda becomes all about the journey and who you find along the way. Poor Zoro doesn't know what to make of it, though...no subject
