Smoker was completely aggravated but only half-surprised when he entered his room and saw Ace all but snuggled beneath his dark sheets.
“What the hell are you doing here, Portgas?”
Ace rolled over onto his back and pouted just a little at the often-asked question, just enough to clench the marine captain’s fists a bit tighter at his sides, and said, “Its cold out”.
“You’re not cold, brat. You don’t feel the fucking cold. You’re always hot”.
An obnoxiously lecherous smile spread across the freckled face. Smoker rolled his eyes and moved toward the bed.
“I’m arresting you. For real this time. Being that stupid has to be illegal.”
The sheets fell away as Ace knelt up to meet him at the edge of the bed. Warm hands reached easily beneath his heavy leather jacket and moved it down his shoulders with practiced eased. Smoker shivered slightly, involuntarily, as damp lips teased beneath the stubbled edge of his chin.
“You know,” he drawled dryly to the boy,” you probably wouldn’t be so cold right now if you weren’t, you know, naked”.
The wicked push of amused air hitting his skin mid-kiss had to be one of the most distracting sensations in the world.
“Gotta tell you, Old Man, turns out I’m not really that cold after all”.
Smoker allowed the younger man to tug him onto his bed before roughly pushing Ace down flat against the soft mattress. Kneeling above him, Smoker glared at the inviting face and cursed the way his pulse picked up when the pirate turned slightly, smugly offering up the vulnerable lines of his neck.
“I’ll arrest you in the morning, brat” he said, echoing past promises, before biting down against the over-heated stretch of skin.
