... my brain is flooded with mythology.
Title: Venus
Topic: Women
Word Count: 300
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Sanji/???, Sanji/Everyone
Women, as far as Sanji was concerned, were to be worshipped. Not just worshipped, but worshipped well, adored and exalted for every trait conceivable, both positive and negative. Beauty and fury, elegance and destructiveness, mercy and manipulation; each aspect was a facet of a flawless gem that he could never hope to possess, but lusted after all the same.
It was in women that he saw reflections of his truest love, a woman of the greatest temptation who had lured many a man to a watery grave at her whim. In one lady he saw supple curves that rolled like gentle waves, in another he heard sweet laughter like a good wind, and he tasted the sea-salt when he kissed the tear-stained cheek of a third. In the eyes of each woman he found the promise of possibility, the ability to give life, the power to sustain it. In their eyes he found clues to All Blue.
Conversely, it was in men that he found the strength to follow her. A man’s sacrifice gave him a second chance at life, another man’s determination gave him a match to meet, and a third’s confidence brought him to his feet when he felt he had nothing left. With one man’s passion urging him forward, another’s spirit lifting him up, a third’s heart at his side, and a boy’s hope to watch over them all, he knew without a doubt that he could woo and win his lady.
Sometimes he wondered if she was jealous of his other loves, the beautiful, reflected women and the proud, indomitable men. He thought maybe that was the reason why every time he had sex on the beach, the tide would come in just as he topped his lover.
The Sea was a demanding woman, after all.
