I've been lurking for a while. I've wanted to participate, but I've never had the courage before. And I know this drabble sucks as my first offering, but I wrote it at the last minute, before this random burst of sudden courage failed. I think it's the lack of sleep that made me do this. I apologize for my lame-ness in advance. D:

I Don't Get It

Luffy was sitting on the rail of the ship when Zoro and Usopp found him.

"I don't get it," he said, his head tilted in confusion.

When his nakama asked what it was that he did not understand, Luffy pointed to Sanji and the thousands of women that constantly rejected him as he waded through the crowd in the market.

Zoro laughed. Usopp decided an experiment must be made, and he armed Luffy with the cheesiest line he could think of before sending his captain out into the same crowd.

Stopping the first pretty lady he came across, Luffy made his move.

"Something tells me you're sweet. Can I have a taste?"

It was then that Zoro was leaping over the rail onto the dock, fuming over how that damn woman was taking off with his captain.

Usopp just crossed his arms over his chest and cocked his head in confusion. He felt sorry for Sanji, because, like Luffy, he did not get it either.

But really, everything Luffy says comes off so darned EARNEST, even the cheesiest pick-up lines in existence. I don't think it's even possible to reject someone like him.

I think that's one of the reasons I love Luffy so much. That, and he's really such a dork. XD But if Luffy used a cheesy line to pick me up, I'd take him home with me and bake him some cookies. He's adorable. :3

And yeah... Sanji should just give up and come out of the closet. Doesn't he know the women are rejecting him because he sets off their gaydar?

Luffy's just so adorable, I think any woman would take him home. Especially the motherly ones. They'd take him home and bake him cookies or something. :3 I know I'd take him home, or at least give him a big hug.

And yeah, poor Zoro, because you know he's got to explain to the lady why he's taking Luffy back with him without letting on that he's a) a pirate, and b) his boyfriend. >D
