Rating: G, I guess. There's hints of shonen-ai, but that's pretty much it.

A/N: First entry, but that's beside the point. The myth came from here, and I edited it a bit for strategic sheep purposes.

"Hey. Can't sleep?"

The boy in the hammock nodded silently.

"Yeah, I know how it is the first few nights. Move over will you.. I'm Shanks by the way."

"B-Buggy" the boy replied.

"Nice to meet you." Shanks said, while unceremoniously wrapping his arm around Buggys waist.

"Have you heard the old story of how the Gods reclaimed all the lost treasures from the oceans?"

"No?" Buggy replied, curiously.

And then Shanks started telling a tale about how the heathen Gods had wrapped a giant snake around the world. Some of them held on to it's tail, while others grabbed a hold of it's head, and then they started to pull. As they where pulling the snake back and forth, it churned up the sea, making all the treasure on the bottom rise to the surface.

Before he knew it, Buggy was drifting off, still with Shanks warm breath against his neck.

"But with the treasure came a poison that would curse all men who came in contact with it." the older boy continued.
"So the Gods sealed it within a tree. Even to this day, the poison still seeps out into the world. You see, the tree drops it's fruits into the ocean, who spreads them with the currents. The fruit is called The De-"

"Now I get it!" Buggy blurted out. The rest of the crew froze in their tracks, staring at their captain who had been sleeping until that sudden outburst.

"Mohji! You got any snakes? Real big ones?"

"Er..I..ehm." the animal tamer stuttered, gesturing towards Richie (like that would explain the absence of gigantic snakes aboard the ship).

"Never mind.." Buggy sighed, sinking back into his armchair. "It would be too much of a hassle to extend it all over the Grand Line anyway"
