n00b posting
Sep. 24th, 2006 08:02 pmHallo. Um...here it is:
Title:Legends and Heros
Rating: G
Word Count: 187
Pairing: Usopp/Luffy
Topic: Myths
Every hero needs someone to tell his tales. He needs someone who will create a breathtaking backdrop to the stories, someone to embellish just the right parts while ignoring the more ignoble details. In short, Luffy needed Usopp.
Or more correctly, Usopp needed Luffy.
He wanted more than anything to become a legend in his own right, but he knew every time he felt his knees shaking that it could never happen for him. But...watching Luffy stand tall in battle, seeing him laugh and dance and live like no other person could ever conceive, he knew he’d found his hero. He’d found the one to create stories, legends, myths, ballads, any number of things that were spoken in reverend voices next to the hearth fire about. Monkey D. Luffy, not Usopp.
Late at night, when Luffy would crawl into his hammock, holding Usopp closer than he ever would in the daylight, silently asking for a long-nosed dream to chase away his nightmares, he felt a thousand times stronger. He felt like a hero worthy of the myths himself
Because he was the one the hero needed.
