If there was anything to be said about their relationship it would be to call it confusing, and possibly fickle. Yes, definitely fickle.

 

It began to drive him crazy when Ace began to kick him out at night, pushing him away in the depths of the night what he seemed to crave all day long when he would hang off of him like some deranged leech. And then he would skip their meetings for months at a time and then just reappear like nothing out of ordinary happened at all

 

It was like some messed up game to him, one that Sanji seemed completely unable to stop or even slow.

 

Everything about their interaction was so dynamic and mind blowing one minute and then like he had been dumped into a vat of ice water the next.

 

Everything about it screamed to him to make it stop. To leave this alone. To cease the twisting. To soothe the addiction to this flame. It was nothing he had ever felt before.

 

Everything made him twist and squirm to fix it.

 

Everything made him yearn for simplicity, instead of this whirlwind of a mess that he had gotten caught in.

 

And then everything inside him would twist itself back around and he would bury himself in the fire once again. Blissfully.

AN: it is a bit unpolished, I got inspired and wrote the whole thing and am posting in about 15 minutes, so feel free to make corrections if you feel the need

Edit: AN: after rereading this today, I noticed that I got carried away by the song's imagery instead of it really fitting properly... so while this could possibly work for Sanji, I dont really think it works well for Ace. ah well, if you like it you like it if you don't you don't....

I've always loved Ace/Sanji. It's always nice to find it when I scroll down my friends list. Interesting take on their dynamic.
