To be God
Title: God's Benevolence
Rating: PG
Pairing: Ener and his Deranged Ego (kinda sounds like a circus act…)
Prompt: Lyrics
Word Count: 229
He could feel them below; hear them as they scurried around their pointless lives- wasting time and wasting away.
He could hear them all the time, now, with their pleas and entreaties. It was taxing, this constant vocal supplication; but somewhere, some part of him pitied them. They were unhappy, and when he thought of it, how could they not be?
They didn’t belong here; Heaven was no place for mortals, they belonged on solid earth, not in the skies intended to be home only to birds and the gods. There was no one above him, so it would be his job to set it right, this oversight of history and evolution; he would set it right, and then move on- for what place was this to a god when mortals had so easily encumbered its sacred shores? He would have to find someplace suitable, some place no one else could ever reach; for that would be the true home of a god.
For now he would plan, and build- let them have their precious days and their pointless frets; salvation was at hand, ticking steadily forward, then he would return them, send them back where they belonged, far below, with others of their kind; they were only flesh after all - unsuited to live in the realm of a god.
It was the greatest kindness he could give.

Well, got the word count- now I've gotta work on that whole pairing, thing. I've got two more ideas that hit me upside the head today- now lets see if I can finish them... (for now; sleep)
To be God
