Follow the yellow brick road...
Nov. 7th, 2006 01:20 pmTitle: Number One, Baby
Topic:emotional turmoil wreaking havoc
Word Count: 300
Rating: Not all that graphic, Kids go home now anyway, Lots of Cussing
Pairing: messy messy (SanZo, Zoro/Usopp, and wait, what?)
Disclaimer: Characters and setting? Not mine. Probably just as well. Here, have them back...
Summary: The road is paved with good intentions, isn't it?
Excuse: Erm. Apparently, angst-critters don't like lettuce, and I don't keep chocolate on hand. So they're still here. And although the mikan were a big hit, they didn't make the silly things any more biddable than usual...
Notes: Follows "Close Your Eyes" and "Eyes Wide Open". Happens before "See No Evil", though.

Fuck, he really didn't have any sense.
He should've just gone to Usopp in the first place, taken his chances. Should never have messed with Sanji. Then he wouldn't be going through this.
He'd forgotten one very important thing when he approached the cook. Sanji didn't extend his flowery subservience to men. The blond was... aggressive, sure of what he wanted, when, where, how -- in a way that Usopp would never be. Top dog, no sniffing about it.
Apparently, having started something with the scrawny blond, no matter how false they both knew it to be, Zoro had promoted himself to Number One Bitch.
It had started innocently enough, although he *knew* he shouldn't have let Sanji get away with telling him what to do, that first time. But Sanji had been the one obviously in need, or he'd never have offered.
The next time, it had been Sanji who'd instigated things. And every time after, for two weeks now.
That wasn't to say Zoro didn't get his fair share, or that he didn't enjoy himself. Despite appearances he was neither stupid, nor masochistic enough to stay in an arrangement that wasn't providing fair benefits. Sanji was good, easy enough to please in return, and hadn't called anyone's name since that first time.
The worst part? He was starting to *like* it when Sanji gave him that certain look, the one that said he'd be on his knees in the anchor deck inside the watch. Was starting to react to the look alone.
Even while part of Zoro's heart felt dirty for cheating on the one he still told himself he loved, the rest of him couldn't seem to care about that. He could only look forward to the next time Sanji leveled that dominant, demanding gaze at him.

Date: 2006-11-07 06:59 pm (UTC)You're just pounding these out and it's wonderful. ^^ Poor Zoro, attracted to Sanji even when he doesn't want to be, but too far in to stop and not quite enough justification. Now it's REALLY going to be messy after he realizes he's been seen even if he only suspects it might've been Usopp.
Plus, Sanji's attraction to Zoro is so completely hot seen through Zoro's eyes. He hopes he's getting away with it so he's instigating things over and over, probably becoming all addicted but wondering if/when he'll get caught. *grins* OH THE LOVELY MESSEDUPIDNESS OF IT ALL!

Date: 2006-11-08 02:53 am (UTC)Uhn, yeah, cough about that... chuckles Srsly? I got an RL project that's been devouring my time done, so this is sort of a break for me. :)
And, yes, poor Zoro, poor Sanji, and oh, I like that word "addicted"... *rummages around* *kicks music collection petulantly* *goes searching* Hah. :)
*bounces away humming, trailed by cavorting plot-critters*

Date: 2006-11-08 04:53 am (UTC)Man, it's all like, just when you think this Gorgon's knot couldn't get any messier you turn around with a Cheshire Cat grin and point out another gnarled thread we hadn't seen before...waaaaahhh I love you so much for this.
And yeah. I said LOVE. There can be no hate here because...um...you might take the happy drabbles away and I would be soooo sad.
