Practice, this time only with Wadou, simple steps that are so etched into his body that thought is useless. His muscles know what to do. It is meditative, soothing, and perfect in this grassy plain with only sunlight and wind for company.
Slow, easy, flowing, he renders calligraphy in air with a steel brush. A straight thrust forward…and there it is, perched on the edge of his blade, bold as you please, wings spread and glistening eyes gazing at him.
Crazy, he thinks. I could flick my wrist and you’d be gone.
The moment stretches, and neither moves.
Don’t go.
He gazes into tiny black eyes and suddenly…finds his center.
*~*~*~
Sketches, this time with just a piece of charcoal, simple renderings that take a scant few seconds to place on paper. His fingers fly across the pages, capturing the grass that mocks the ocean waves in the distance. It is meditative, soothing, and perfect with only Zoro and nature as his subjects.
One by one unfinished pages turn, fated to be nothing but rough circles and lines. He scans the scene before him, searching for fresh imagery…and there it is. A butterfly was sitting on the sharp edge of Zoro’s katana; the swordsman stood frozen in place.
In the space of a minute, he saw such emotions on the swordsman’s face that he feared to blink lest he miss it. Surprise slipped into confusion, which bloomed into fear, then a fragile longing.
And just when the artist thought he would shatter with waiting…calm. Expressions so uncharacteristically beautiful gone by so quickly, that he left the face blank until last because he couldn’t choose.
He destroyed the sketch later on. The image in his mind was punishment enough; leaving a physical reminder was simply too cruel.

Nope.
Just... You're amazing. This is beautiful and delicate and... just wow.
This is going into memories. Your way with words stuns me. This image stuns me. I'm just all around stunned.
