Title: Dangerous Game
Topic:one kiss wreaking havoc
Word Count: 250
Rating: Slightly suggestive, Where did all the cussing go?
Pairing: messy messy messy (but mostly San/Zo, Zo/Us, Us/Kaya)
Disclaimer: Characters and setting? Not mine. Probably just as well. Here, have them back...
Summary: It was, and wasn't, what he wanted.
Excuse: Yuki, this one is your fault. :)
Notes: Follows "Close Your Eyes" and "Eyes Wide Open". Flipside to "Number One, Baby". Also comes before "See No Evil".

It was a dangerous game, and he knew it.
He could barely play it, as it was. He'd managed, that first time, to blurt out Luffy's name, but only because it had been a necessary subterfuge.
It had hurt more than he'd expected, to think about later. It had also narrowed the choices for who Zoro really thought of to just one, really.
Watching Zoro's behaviour around their marksman had only confirmed matters.
Which was fine. Sanji knew the swordsman's feelings weren't returned. He'd exchanged words with the sniper, not very long before. The strangely hesitant sniper, who'd professed a weakness for a certain blonde. Kaya, he'd called her.
As matters stood, it was shocking enough that Sanji hadn't been turned down yet, when he'd cocked his head imperiously at the marimo-head, suggested wordlessly that the idiot had been watching Usopp's ass a little too much and perhaps...
Not that Sanji was jealous, or anything. He knew the score perfectly well.
But Sanji wanted... He wanted to touch. To taste -- something more than just what little he'd been allowed. To hold, and kiss, and love the swordsman. Who might as well have had his lips coated in poison, because the instant Sanji made a move like that, it was all over.
And so, no matter how much he wanted to, he didn't dare let a name pass his lips in his moment of ecstasy again.
Because it would be Zoro's name, and that would be the end of everything.

Date: 2006-11-09 12:15 am (UTC)OH THE HAPPY. Zoro and Sanji both enjoying it too much and getting hurt because of it, but nothing shows on the outside. Mmmmmm. ^___^ Sanji constantly reminded not to let anything slip, Zoro feeling guilty... seriously, I feel sadistic but I love this. I also love the way Sanji think's he's got everything figured out and is rather reassured that Usopp likes Kaya, but Usopp actually likes HIM (will he discover this? *dun dun duuuuuuun*). Don't worry Sanji, somebody loves you, just not the one you want to. Actually, the one who the one you want to like you likes. Oh the tangled webs we weave when first we practice to write twisted love polygons. ^^
AND THERE'S ANOTHER ONE. *goes off to read*
