Title: I’ll work harder
Rating: PG
Word Count: 174
Pairing: Zoro =>Sanji
Topic: Punishment and Reward

Zoro’s whole existence was rooted in two principles. The first was hard work because it made everything possible. If you couldn’t get there with hard work, well then you just weren’t working hard enough. The second was pain for pain was the best indicator of how hard you were actually working. The more pain you felt the better, and the closer you were to achieving your goals. That’s why he was happy when he pushed his muscles past the point where they might rip, or when he smirked off injuries from his opponents because when it was all said and done he would be stronger and better for it. He would be that much closer to his dreams. Zoro figured this philosophy applied to everything; it’s the reason he worked so hard to prove his worth to the cook. So, when he heard the moans and pants coming from the dark corner of the pub, where Sanji was last seen, he smiled because judging by the ache in his chest he was almost there.

Poor Zoro, he really needs Sanji to notice him...

Oh, wow. That... I seriously could see Zoro rationalizing like that. (Or even just plain thinking that way naturally, which might be even worse.)

Yikes. That last line caught me so hard it gave me wiplash. Lovely pacing, because it sounds kinda hopeful until that last line and then *waaaah! sniffles* Ouch. Great job ^_^; (Since a writer has to be able to emotionally manipulate the reader...) And yeah, that crazy lopsided rationalization does feel like Zoro...

Oh God. *mind is too caught up to make any rational comment*

But oh, it's so achingly fantastic! I also like how Zoro's like a little over the sanity level here~*in a good way though!* Then again, who else is a hundred percent sane on that ship?XD

This is really good. I think it's probably one of the most "in character" portraits of Zoro I've seen in a long while. Awesome work, I can really see Zoro thinking this way!

I'm not usually one for angsty or sad drabbles/stories, since I can be easily influenced by what I read. Most of the time, anyway.

That said, this is one drabble that made me go, "Ouch, WOW!" And it's definitely worth re-reading again. Bravo, this was just...soo good. It makes me long for more fics where Zoro wants Sanji (though if it had a happy ending that'd be even better).

Lovely.
