Rating: PG
Word Count: 300
Topic: Showers
Rain offers absolution. It wipes away at the grime and half-hidden tearstains to leave behind a sweet fresh scent. But then, it hasn't rained since their first train ride when he wasn't too sure what was going on, just that Robin needed help. That rain hadn't even washed the remnants of the fight from his face, it had washed over the mask.
Now there is no calming shower to wash over the layers of dirt that he can't seem to get off his body. There are splinters, grime from the rubble of Enis Lobby, soot from the fire, and, just faintly, the smell of a small leather briefcase full of bellis.
He wants the rain to pound down, to beat away at his body and leave him peppered with bruises. They will hurt, but somehow the pain will justify everything and leave him feeling better.
There is a cool mist, promising rain to come, when he stands next to the new ship. He knows it's not empty, his...the nakama should be on board already, getting used to their new surroundings. Judging by the size, each person must have their own cabin. Idly, he wonders if there is an empty one for him.
Thunder cracks and the rain is unleashed. He jumps, then looks to the sky. As his eyes travel upwards, lightning sears the down the sky, illuminating the young man standing on deck, watching him from the darkness. Their eyes meet and he feels a hand on his shoulder. There is the moment of suspended animation, then a body rams into him. The body says nothing, just wraps around him in the rain.
The final drops land in the early light, leaving behind puddles of dirt and a sweet fresh smile.

Maybe I'm just stupid, but I'm not sure what 'ths' is supposed to be.
