They were quiet about what they did, took care not to be overheard or overseen, made a point of not advertising their relationship. The world at large might never know, given the way they still tended to break into violent public altercations.

Even so, they didn't, couldn't hide it. It was a small ship, after all. Certainly, every member of the Strawhat Crew knew, at some level, that their swordsman and cook were, as Usopp put it, "making like bunnies".

Mind you, Luffy and Chopper took that rather more literally than the rest of the crew. However, they both happened to find the idea of an angry Zoro with long green ears sufficient reason to leave the pair alone. And the thought of Sanji's death glare and position aboard was similarly quite enough reason for them and Usopp not to tease the pair.

Nami was initially rather scandalized and more than a bit weirded out by it, but Robin managed to find terms (such as pedestal, deification, and base physical stress relief) to explain it so Nami understood. Robin herself remained unsurprised and imperturbed; she'd seen this type of thing all too often. Franky, who'd stepped into the crew after the fact was established, simply recognized it as the way things were. Had even discreetly written private space for them into the plans for their new ship.

Usopp (after his initial shock, confusion, and concern), of course, declared he'd seen things a dozen times stranger, and heard of even more. As long as he wasn't expected to watch or participate, he quickly decided it didn't really matter.

But, when he was all alone at night, he had to admit he was rather jealous. His own beloved had been left behind, while these two had theirs to stand beside every day.
