Grain of Sand
Jun. 16th, 2004 04:41 pmTitle: Grain of Sand
Rating: G
Pairing: Zoro/Usopp overtones. Squinty ones.
Wordcount: 300
Notes: Takes place after 321. Actually I think it's too vague to have many spoilers. On the other hand it might help to know the situation, if anything could help.
Zoro was making his rounds while Usopp watched, half-hypnotized by the steady footfalls, from where he'd collapsed.
Eventually Zoro noticed. "Didn't I say sleep?"
"I can't."
Zoro stared uncomprehendingly. "Go below, then. It's no good like that."
Usopp found enough strength to draw his brows together. "Heh? Who's talking?"
"Huh?"
"Don't you think-" He gave in to Zoro's relentlessly blank look and flopped onto his back. He wasn't up to explaining irony.
The sky was ridiculously blue.
Where do you think that guy is now? It wasn't worth the effort to ask.
"It's a little known fact that devil fruit abilities can be contagious," he said instead.
"Eh?"
"Really." Usopp raised one arm and waved it bonelessly.
After a moment Zoro stomped over. Usopp's brain was dysfunctional. He'd only just started to wonder what he'd gotten himself into when he was hauled to his feet like he really was full of nothing but hot air.
"You are sorta limp."
Relief made him wilt further. Zoro grunted and kicked open the hatch, shifting his grip. For a second Usopp was sure they were about to discover if he bounced when dropped, but he found himself hanging from the swordsman's neck instead. He pressed his cheek against Zoro's shirt. "It's no good. I won't sleep in the cabin either."
Zoro paused, then scrambled down and dumped him on the couch. "I can put you to sleep." He smiled tightly, all but cracking his knuckles. Usopp stopped arguing.
The ceiling of the cabin was dirty and sort of sooty, actually.
"Worry about it later."
"Easy for you to say."
"Don't be stupid," Zoro snapped, and all the things Usopp couldn't find the strength to say to piled up at his tongue at once.
"Tomorrow," Zoro growled, and dropped a pillow onto Usopp's face.

Date: 2004-06-17 05:56 am (UTC)"You are sorta limp." .... forgive me, but I couldn't help but giggle... in every single RP I've ever been in (whether I play zoro or not) he always seems to state unintended innuendo..... it's probably why I love to rp so much XD
