Ooh! On topic, but it's... well...
Jul. 3rd, 2007 10:16 pmTitle: Artistic Inspiration
Topic: "villain"
Word Count: 300
Rating: PG, I suppose
Pairing: Sanji/Zoro
Disclaimer: Characters and setting? Not mine. Probably just as well. Here, have them back...
Summary: Sanji is, after all, a culinary artist. And Robin has had years to practice. But it's all in the perspective, I suppose...
Excuse: It's so pretty?
Notes: This started off as an omake to "Too Late", but I think it can stand on its own.

"You," Zoro wheezed, one (sword-bearing) hand clamped firmly against his ribcage, and the other (its sword held loosely between thumb and forefinger, no less secure for the seemingly casual grip) propped by the heel against the edge of the counter. "You are a very, very evil man." His teeth closed a little more firmly around Wadou's hilt as he huffed another breath in.
"I'm terribly sorry," Sanji replied, in a tone that implied very clearly that the only thing he was sorry about was Zoro's complete lack of a sense of humour, "but an artist finds inspiration where it lies. Be happy I didn't add mint stripes along the sides."
Zoro stared, expressionless, for a moment, then abruptly sheathed his swords and stomped off.
Sanji lowered his foot, added the plate of tiny cakes to the tea tray, and headed out to present his special petit-fours-of-Love to the ladies.
"What a beautiful design, Cook-san. Wherever did you get the idea for the pattern?" Robin asked, as Sanji served her snack.
They were very pretty. Each square had been dipped in caramel icing, to which a thin diagonal stripe of raspberry cream had been added. Over top, a delicate fan of translucent white anisette-flavoured glazing radiated from the midpoint of one side.
"Thank you, Robin-chan, but I'm afraid the source is a... personal secret. I'd be happy to make these again, though, if you'd like?"
"Ah," she remarked, looking pointedly over his shoulder. Almost unwillingly, Sanji noted the direction of her gaze. And the object of her attention, angrily wrestling his shirt off before starting his weight reps.
"Indeed, Cook-san. That would be lovely. And I'm sure Swordsman-san would appreciate it as well."
Sanji had to turn away quickly to hide the blush.
And Zoro was calling him a "bad guy"?

You didn't... Did you? Really? The whole caramel/raspberry cream/anisette glaze... I'll bet it did!
*falls over in dazed awe/surprise/giggles/something* I'm so flattered I'm not quite sure what to DO with myself right now...
