Author's Note: The title sounds like a bad porno on purpose. Also, I think I owe the Sunny an apology.
It was dusk over the water upon which the Thousand Sunny floated. Above deck, not a soul could be seen…but that didn’t mean that one didn’t reside there.
“Merry,” an ethereal voice pleaded, unnoticed by the ship’s otherwise occupied occupants.
“What is it?” said another voice. “Sorry, I have some guests over. Do you need something?”
“Yes,” the first voice replied, weary and irritable. “Do these people ever stop…”
There was a prompting silence. “Copulating?!” Sunny finally blurted.
This heralded a sympathetically amused pause. “Honestly?” Merry said. There was a brief silence filled by the disembodied sound of ice swirling in a glass. “Not often.”
Sunny made an exasperated noise, but was cut off by a groan that had nothing to do with creaking wood. “See?!” Sunny insisted, envying humans their ability to squirm in discomfort.
“Oh, Sunny,” Merry said, with a ghostly sigh. “Don’t you understand? They’re happy.”
“They don’t sound happy,” Sunny grumbled, settling lower into the waves. “Earlier the navigator was making these positively unearthly noises, and now the cook and the swordsman are actually fighting while they’re—”
“Oh, trust me,” Merry said, “that’s good. If Zoro-san and Sanji-san ever stop fighting, then you should worry. And now I’m wondering who was educing these ‘unearthly noises’…”
“Merry!”
Merry giggled. “Sorry. I have to get back to the party, but trust me, you get used to it. Besides, you want them to be happy, right?”
“Well, of course I do, but—”
“And you’re doing a fine job. Keep it up, sweetie!”
“Wait!” Sunny cried, a second too late; Merry’s presence was gone. Sunny creaked grouchily and prepared for another restless night. “I’d better get accustomed to this soon…”
Someone thumped against the wall in Usopp-san’s workshop. Sunny winced.
At least they were having a good time.
