The box had been innocent looking enough; small, cardboard, without paper or ribbons to signify that it might have been anything special. But it had been just enough to catch Sanji’s eye as he entered the kitchen that morning to start on breakfast.

The lesson that it could be hazardous to ones health to peer into unnamed containers, had been passed down from Ussop. And considering the mental status of many on the ship, it was not a less one should forget.

But, it was in his kitchen, and that seemed as good a reason as any to investigate.

What came out of the box did not explode. Rather, it clattered to the table and lay there like a struck animal. And for awhile, that’s exactly what Sanji thought it was until, he held it too the light.

It was a pair of handcuffs… covered in a neon green fuzz that blackened to purple polka dots in random spaces, and bits of pink ribbon running through the chain.

Sanji stared at it in all the horror an early morning mind can facilitate, before there was the briefest flicker of movement outside the porthole, startling him to drop it as though it were on fire.

The cuffs landed with a soft thud in the box, and Sanji had enough mind to slide the lid back on. Agreeing with himself that the aforementioned affront to all good taste should remain an anonymous blemish in his memory, Sanji went to start on breakfast.

Or, so he tried…

But, it seemed that things tinted green that morning were not prone to being ignored.

Which was why, a few seconds later, there was a soft click as the furry abomination chained his left to the cabinet, and a smirking swordsman was at his right.
