Aug. 22nd, 2007 12:15 pmTitle: A Battle Won
Topic: playing games
Rating: safe!
Pairing: Zoro/Sanji, Usopp
Word Count: 432...which is reason enough for the fact that no one should read this!
A/N: This would be another one of my insomniatic ideas...the only difference is it was written the next day.
Sanji watched from his position on the ground as Zoro felled the last of the band of swordsmen they were up against. He was a little pissed that he had been shoved out of the way of that last blow, but his injuries were starting to hurt, so he wasn't going to complain...that much.
Fucking crap swordsmen who were actually good at swinging around sharp pointy objects...
Deciding there was no point in lying around and looking weak now that the battle was over, Sanji struggled to his feet, only for the world to tilt sharply beneath him. Luckily, a strong body was there to catch him before he fell.
"Oi...you're getting blood all over the shirt Nami gave me..." Sanji protested weakly as his body was shifted so that he could rest against Zoro's back.
"Most of it's yours," Zoro replied as he lifted the cook by the thighs and began making his way through the carnage, Usopp close behind.
"Put me down, Marimo, I can walk just fine." His sight was going a little fuzzy, but hey, you don't see the blind sitting on their asses all day.
Zoro and Usopp exchanged a glance at this. "We'll let Chopper decide on that when he's done," the first mate stated as he shifted his grip a little.
"Heh, quit playing games, aho..." Sanji frowned as his attention landed on Usopp. "What's that big stick you're carrying?"
Usopp jumped and nearly dropped the object in question before clutching it tighter to his chest. "I-it's nothing you need to worry about. Like Zo-Zoro said, w-we're gonna let Chopper-" a loud sniffle "-he's a great doctor, so everything will be okay!"
Sanji could almost feel the man carrying him scowl.
"Hey, what's...wrong with him?" the blond asked. "He's acting like...someone's...dying."
"He's always acting like someone's dying," Zoro grumbled. "Usopp, why don't you run ahead and let everyone know we're coming so they can get ready."
"B-but what about you?"
"I'm fine. We've got other things to worry about, now hurry up!"
With another loud sniffle and a wipe of his eyes, the sharpshooter nodded before running ahead, still stubbornly holding on to that weird stick-thing.
"You dying on me, Zoro?" Sanji asked faintly, his wavering eyes focused on Usopp for reasons completely beyond him at the moment.
Zoro's response seemed to echo about in his ears, unintelligible as Sanji realized why his stare remained focused on the other boy. The edges of his vision dimming, a single thought managed to pierce the fog taking over his mind...
Why is that stick wearing my shoe?
