He’s amused and confused.
It’s quacking, that he’s sure of. But it has teeth, another thing he’s sure of, as the idiot-marimo is flailing around trying to detach said duck-thing from his finger.
“You shouldn’t randomly pet creatures that belong with that box-guy you mentioned.”
Zoro pointed the damaged finger at the cook with vehemence as the duck-thing dangled angrily, still attempting to remove the digit from its owner.
“It looked perfectly harmless! It was fluffy and Chopper spoke to it earlier!”
“Yeah, that was before you almost stepped on one of its young.”
Zoro’s mouth opened and closed rapidly in indignation.
“I…I did NOT! I did not step on the ducky!”
Sanji’s head whipped around sharply as he heard the last syllable leave the swordsmans mouth.
“Duck-y?”
“I meant Turtle-Duck.”
“Duck-y?”
Zoro grabbed the Turtle-Duck around the neck and detached it from his finger, giving it a rough shake for good measure. Chopper watched in absolute horror as the ducks head fell limply to one side and its eyes started to swirl.
“Shut up cook.”
“Zooorrooooo! Don’t kill the mummy~ducky!” Chopper cried as the bird/reptilian thing in his clutches seemed to be giving its final heave of breath.
“Yes Zoro. Don’t kill the mother Ducky. Its babies will come after you.”
Zoro decided that Sanji’s grin could not get anymore shit-eating as he released the animal back into the pond from whence it came. It gave him a dirty look over its wing as it waddled back into the water and flicked its tail in what Zoro could only think of as the duck equivalent of the finger.
“You’re more like that damn thing than you know cook.” He muttered as he walked back to the ship.

Date: 2008-01-09 02:51 am (UTC)A lot of people seem to think that about turtles, and I don't know why... the platypus thing is weird, though, cos yes, platypuses are mammals, but your turtle-ducks aren't platypuses, so I really don't know why anyone would bring it up. *baffled*
