Title: Hard to forget
Pairing: Sanji > Zoro
Rating: PG
Wordcount: 231
Notes: my first drabble... English isn’t my first langage, so I may have done some stupid spelling and grammatical mistakes, or misused words. If you find some, please let me know ! Oh yeah, and the title sucks. Sorry >.o;

Sometimes I wonder what she looked like.

He doesn’t speak much, especially about personal matter. So I can only guess, from what he told to that Marine officer we met in Loguetown, Tashigi.
I keep picturing a teenager, although she must have been just a kid when she died. Black hair, dark eyes. Not really pretty, looking rather self-conscious, and holding a sword. They say a woman is nothing without the accessory ; it has never been so true.

I know it upsets him when I’m being nice with women. He keeps telling me that I’m ridiculous, and that I will never get anything from them. Well, he has no idea how it upsets me when he mentions that promise, this fucking promise he did to her. She’s dead, but somehow she’s still here, wandering at the back of his mind, reminding him of the goal he must reach. She’s dead, but it would be easier if she were still alive.

I may be proud when it comes to women, but honestly, I never found it hard to make them forget they were already engaged. You can always make fun of a rival, and the more he fights, the stupidest he looks. But is there anything you can do against a memory ? Especially a treasured one, the one you’ve hold on to your whole life ?

Then I wish she never existed.

Y'know, for having English as a second language, this is absolutely stunning. Seriously-- this is better ficlet than I've seen from people who speak English as their native language. (Fortunately, the stuff that ends up here is usually quite good, but in other places....*shudders*)

Really good display of emotion.

-k.

I agree, especially for not having English as your first language, this came out beautifully! Very pretty, with wonderful use of description.

A few mistakes such as 'the stupidest he looks' didn't detract from my enjoyment at all; in fact I really didn't even notice them the first time through. I like the whole progression of the topic and, like kas said, I really liked the way emotion was conveyed.
