Paulie was a hedonist.

He loved to gamble and drink and loved to do anything that felt good. Even thought his job required back braking effort at time the result in the end was a heady feeling of joy at having helped to create such master pieces of carpentry.

Lucci was more pragmatic.

He never drank himself stupid, like Paulie, or gambled himself into debt, like Paulie. In fact Paulie was never really sure what Lucci did with all of the money that he made. The apartment that he lived in was not that expensive, and was very sparsely furnished.

Perhaps it was Lucci’s bedroom that ate up his paycheck?

After all it had to be expensive to replace those silk sheets after every time they got ripped when they fucked. After all, Paulie had refused point blank to screw on anything less after the first time they fell in to bed together.

He was a hedonist after all.
