In my Sights
Franky had mostly spent his first few weeks among the Straw Hats with Usopp. One day they were hanging out on deck in companionable silence. Franky was polishing the banisters of his lovely ship, while Usopp was practicing with his new slingshot. The sniper would draw back until his hand brushed his nose and then he'd release, striking a fish out of the water in the far off distance. Each time his long nose was touched, like it was some sort of lucky charm.
Watching him for a moment, Franky decided he had to ask about it.
"Doesn't that thing get in your way, Bro?" Franky pointed at the sniper's stretched schnoz. "I can fix you up with an upgrade, if you want." The cyborg pointed at his own steel sniffer.
Usopp looked at him like he would a crazy man. "Are you kidding? This is a priceless piece of sniping equipment!"
"It is?"
"Damn straight!" Usopp postured. "See here, this nose acts like my scope. I wouldn't be able to shoot as good without it."
Franky tilted his head. “I don’t get it.”
“Look,” Usopp sighed and turned, his eyes beading in on Zoro's sleeping form in the grass across the deck. "My nose like a sight on a gun, with it I line up my target..." Usopp raised his hand out, holding an imaginary pistol. "…And it keeps my aim straight and true so that I make every shot." He pulled the invisible trigger, shooting the unknowing swordsman straight in the heart. Usopp smiled when Zoro twitched slightly and rolled over on his side.
Franky lifted his sunglasses and whistled. "That's pretty super, Bro."
Usopp grinned and laughed. "Of course! Once I have a target in my sights, they never get away!"
