And the band played on...
Aug. 7th, 2008 01:12 pmTitle: ...Or Lack Thereof
Topic: class
Word Count: 300
Rating: PG-14
Pairing: (attempted?) Mihawk/Sanjirella, (very slight) Sanji -> Zoro (if you squint hard)
Disclaimer: Characters and setting? Not mine. Probably just as well. Really!
Summary: The Fair Lady really hopes all swordsmen aren't this bad at dancing...
Excuse: This one's for
cptn_shinigami, who requested "Sanji giving Mihawk dance lessons" WAY too long ago. I R so fail at getting things written in timely fashion. *hangs head*
Notes: This one follows "Madame Godmother", "Hello, Prince Charming", and "Bonsoir, Mademoiselle", and comes before "The Masked Ball".

"One two three, two two three, spi-in and step two three, yes, that's right keep going, you're getting the hang of it now-ooof! Watch out!"
"My apologies, Mademoiselle, are you alright?"
"Fine, fine -- keep your hand where it is -- don't worry, you missed most of my toes, it's everyone else you need to worry about not crashing into. Sh-- eesh, are all swordsmen this heavy on their feet? I may have to swear off choosing them for dance partners!"
"Ah, Mademoiselle, I cannot speak for all swordsmen, only myself; but I am fortunate indeed to have found such patient instruction. Shall we try one more--"
"I said, keep your hand where it is, Monsieur."
"But, Mademoiselle, it is, after all, masquerade, is it not? Where fancies, and other things, may be free?"
The Fair Lady planted her fair feet, pulled Mihawk's hand (that had been gradually inching further and further down her skirt from her waist) around and up with unexpectedly strong fingers, and slapped it against his chest. Then she said, in a voice suddenly an octave lower and no longer half-disguised by breathy admiration, "Yes, it is. And I'm not the sort of girl you seem to think I am. If you'll excuse me? Your dancing lesson is over now."
As she... No, Mihawk suddenly realized, as he walked away, his dance partner had a memorable aura, now that he looked, and perhaps, if they met again, they would share an entirely different sort of dance. But, oh, to be the swordsman this Fair Lady usually danced with...
The Fair Lady, on the other hand, was seriously beginning to reconsider his costume choice. It was one thing to be "a pretty boy", but before this evening Sanji had never been gratuitously groped like that by someone he didn't...
