Zoro’s mind was peacefully blank as he went through the training, katana moving in smooth arcs. The crew were relaxing on deck during the evening. At times like these, the swordsman felt at peace with the world.

On the Ram’s head prow figure, Luffy sat looking out at the waves. The wind was gently tugging his hair and clothes. Seeming to sense Zoro’s gaze, the Captain tightened his grip on the Rams’ horns before leaning backwards. His hat tipped off to be held by its cord. Upon seeing Zoro, Luffy’s face broke into a wide grin.

Contented, Zoro smiled back. Sheathing his sword he made his way over the forward deck towards Luffy. Cupping his face between his hands, he kissed him upside down.

Luffy hummed contentedly into the kiss. When the swordsman pulled away, he was rewarded with a brilliant smile. Grinning, Zoro ruffled Luffy’s hair.

The Captain sat up again, putting his hat back into place. Zoro stepped up to the rail and rested his arms on it. The pair silently shared the scenery, half listening to their nakama.

In that quiet moment Zoro once again knew that they would achieve their dreams.

Because they were free.
