Smoker glanced at the crumpled slip of paper:
I can't stay away from you,
For whenever your fingers,
Curl around mine, gently, clumsily,
The fire within me grows.
I must never be parted from you,
For whenever your arms,
Wrap around mine, warmly, firmly,
The fire within me quivers.
I shall never want to let you go,
For whenever your skin,
Rubs against mine, softly, harshly,
The fire within me trembles.
I must never get lost from you,
For whenever your lips,
Move against mine, aloof, demanding,
The fire within me hungers.
And if I ever am free from you,
May I forget the feel of your heart,
Beating with mine, slowly, quickly,
And may the fire within me die, parted from its smoke.
"Why, exactly, was this tucked inside of your pants?" Smoker asked Ace. He would never admit it, but the fiery poem touched him somewhere deep inside that cold heart of his.
"Maybe because I knew you would find it there. Now finish undressing me, old man."

Smoker lay next to the now sleeping Ace, with the poem still ringing in his ears.
And if I ever am free from you,
May I forget the feel of your heart,
Beating with mine, slowly, quickly,
And may the smoke within me die, parted from its fire.
~Heh, heh...
