Zoro always had to uphold his status as a man. With Johnny and Yosaku, he was the man of the trio, the strongest, most dependable. Next to Ussop... Well, everyone looked like a man around him. With Sanji, the swordsman definitely prided himself in being the man of the two, and around the ladies, Zoro had to act as the manly savior.

Being a man had pressure, though. He could never really show his weaknesses, could never really fully open up to anyone, so he hid behind a mask of slumber, always off dreaming. But when Zoro was alone with Luffy... Luffy was different from the others.

With Luffy, Zoro didn't have to worry about consequences.

So the swordsman tilted the younger boy's chin upwards, pulled the boy close, kissed him deeply. Lips crushed together firmly, opened against each other, and tongues brushed, intertwining for a moment before the pirates came up for air.

Luffy grinned and leaned his head against a muscular chest. Zoro smiled. Around the boy he didnt have to hide, to pretend, to turn away. Around the boy, he could just be himself.
