Smoker stared at the surprisingly neat scrawl dancing across the front page of his notepad:

Promise you'll hold me close,
To keep me from drifting away,
From losing you, from
Drowning, drowning.

Pull me against you tighter,
So my head is on your chest,
So I can hear you heart
Beating, beating.

Kiss me just one more time,
Part your lips against mine,
So in your passion, once more, I am
Sinking, sinking.

The marine glanced at the slim figure on his bed who gazed innocently out of the cabin window. In less than a second, Smoker had spun Ace around and crushed their lips together, tongues brushing, then probing deeper.

Smoker gently pulled away and looked directly into the brat's eyes. "You know you don't have to write a fucking poem. Just ask me if you want a kiss."

Ace just smiled.
