In a far away galaxy on a planet we call earth…
“Hey you guys come and look, the dolphins are dancing again,” Luffy shouted for the fifth time in only so many minutes and this time, like the other times, it had been ignored. He sat on the railing at the stern of the sunny, watching happily as the dolphins jumped and screeched excitedly, thriving on his attention. Luffy had never taken to sit on the figurehead of the Sunny hence why he wasn’t there now. He’d done it two or three times the first few days they were aboard, but always seemed to jump off rather quickly again. The crew seemed to think that the trait had been particularly for the Merry and would stay that way.
Fascinated by the singing and dancing fish, Luffy couldn’t take his eyes off of them as a particularly tasty and seemingly brilliant –to him anyway- idea began to form in that pea-brain of his. He leaned further over the railing as one of the dolphins jumped high enough for him to pat, smiling widely.
“Come here fishy, fishy.”

Zoro counted his press-ups steadily as he had for the past thirty minutes and had just passed the two-thousand mark when a jovial Luffy ran past him, carrying something big and wet and screaming for Sanji who was leaning against the gallery door having a smoke.
“Sa~~nji, can we eat this?” The boy held up the big grey fish and Sanji’s eyes widened comically as he took in the sight of Luffy and his dolphin -taken prisoner- who looked slightly miserable, if a fish could even look that way.
“You idiot! Put that back where you found it, right now!”
“Awwww Sanji, but I’m starving!” Sanji ignored him and came running down the stairs two at a time.
“No! Put it back!” He reached Luffy and began shoving him toward the starboard railing, cursing all the way as Luffy bemusedly went with the flow. They reached the edge and Luffy –with a heartbreaking sigh and a begging look at Sanji which was quickly squashed by the returned glare- lobbed the dolphin overboard, looking longingly at it as it disappeared into the sea.
“I wanted to know what dancing fish tasted like. There are so many of them, one won’t hurt,” Luffy said miserably, hanging off of the wooden railing as if he’d lost all energy. Sanji came up beside him and thumped him on the head.
“Idi---” Sanji stopped and stared down into the water.
“Guy’s!!”

Usopp seemed to be slightly freaked out by the… well, there must have been at least fifty, dolphins that danced and screeched before the Sunny, he was entirely sure that this was not normal behaviour within animals. He hid behind an irate Zoro and jumped nervously as a particularly loud whine was elicited by one of the big fish.
“What the hell are they doing” Zoro grunted as one particularly excited dolphin decided to do a trick that looked far too complicated to have been given a name yet. Chopper, who was trying to understand what they were saying, too busy to be scared, frowned.
“I think they’re singing…” at this, Luffy grinned, cheered and then began doing some screeching of his own which earned him another thump in the head, though this time by Franky who at the time was closest.
The dolphins squeaked and whined louder in that weird, unearthly way and danced on the water faster and faster, jumping higher and higher and the boys looked on as the weird display seemed to be reaching it’s climax. Everything sped up and got decidedly more and more confusing to look at until finally, with one long and very loud screech –in which Usopp fleetingly thought everything was going to explode-, the dolphins leapt up into the air as one… and kept going.
They looked up after the dolphins, all sporting bemused, confused or slightly freaked out expressions. After a few minutes of silence in which they could no longer see the dolphins Sanji decided to speak up.
“So, what did they say?” He said, looking at the small reindeer who’d now taken to only having a very confused look on his face.
“So long, so long and thanks for all the fish…”
Not too long after that, the earth was destroyed by the Vogon spaceships in a big explosion…
The end.
