Red hair had lost an arm?

Buggy squinted over the newspaper and looked at his former crewmates picture. Yes, it was truly gone, no mistake. He placed down his bottle and considered this a moment.

True justice…or maybe irony. If the bastard had been the one to eat the Chop-chop fruit he’d still have an arm.

Still the person responsible for such an injury had to be pretty fearsome. As much as he hated to admit it, he didn’t know a man, pirate, or marine that could touch Shanks in range of skill. Well maybe Whitebeard but Shanks was smart enough to know how to deal with him after the time they both spent on the Oro Jackson.

It made him rather angry. Who dared to do such a thing then? If anyone was going to hurt the red haired jerk it was meant to be Buggy. No one else was fit for such a task.

The clown sighed and looked back to the picture splashed across the front page.

If only the idiot had the sense of what being a proper pirate was about (treasure of course)…he would have joined up with him and they could have ruled the seas together.

It would have been easier to look after the bastard that way.

This might be a bit OOC, but I like the idea of Buggy being unable to Not think about Shanks. He's a bit calmer than I would've thought, since his reactions to unexpected developments tends toward the loud and emotional, but I like what you did here, because Buggy isn't a one-dimensional villain. Yes, Buggy himself said that he hates Shanks because Shanks made him eat the Devil's Fruit (when we all know that Buggy did that to himself), but at the same time, the way Buggy had said that in canon made me think of someone shouting very loudly that they didn't like that girl when they actually harbor a secret crush.

... Okay, not at that level, but inching towards it.

I also like the mental image of Buggy reading a newspaper. I don't know why this is, but I like it? Hmm.
