Different sorts of justice...
Sep. 24th, 2008 01:43 pmTitle: Seigi
Topic: justice
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG
Pairing: Zoro/Smoker, sort of
Disclaimer: Characters and setting? Not mine. Probably just as well. Here, have them back...
Summary: After an event in Alabasta, Zoro ponders.
Excuse: I had a wondering... This is what my research tells me.
~~~
"Seigi," their uniform coats say, bold characters writ large. "Justice," and not only justice, but just justice, righteous rightness. More than the simple "gi" of the justice of bushido, the one that he was always taught to honour.
Why, then, does the Commander find it so hard to understand why it is that Zoro is pulling the logia-user's leaden form through the swirling waters to safety? It is, all too simply, the righteous path to save another life.
If this is the reaction he gets to his action, then just what kind of justice do they teach those Marines, anyway?
