A/N: I blame Halloween?
Zoro stood tall, with his hands bound behind his back and noose tight around his neck. His punishment seemed a bit extreme, but the crowd was under the strong influence of a mob mentality and were demanding justice in their thirst for blood.
Testing the strength of the ropes around his wrists, Zoro found he really had no way out of this situation. Eating the one fruit the whole town revered as sacred was not only a bad idea, but something that was more in his Captain's style than his. So just why the hell was HE the one with his head in the noose?
A metallic slicing sound captured the swordsman's attention and he looked over just in time to see a knife headed straight for his ear. He tilted his head just in time, but several seconds later, another knife came flying out from the shadows beyond the crowd, this one much more poorly aimed at his chest.
Twisting his body to the side, Zoro was forced to duck and dodge 7 more daggers, not counting the three that just completely flew passed him.
Wondering just what was going on (seeing as how the crowd seemed just as confused), Zoro's eyes widened comically as ten minutes later, he saw his very own Sandai Kitetsu come spinning over everyone's heads, cutting through the air and aimed right at his neck.
The mob watched in sick horror as the slice was made cleanly, the sword's vibrations echoing throughout the town square as it embedded itself into the wooden pole behind the corpse.
Their thirst for justice and blood fulfilled, the people wandered back to their homes, and thirty minutes later the Straw Hat crew deemed it safe to appear.
Lightly tapping the marimo head with his foot, Sanji fell back with a startled yell as Zoro opened his eyes and glared up at his shipmates.
"WHAT THE FUCK!! ARE YOU GUYS TRYING TO KILL ME??!? DON'T USE MY SWORDS SO CASUALLY!!"

Date: 2008-09-25 04:22 am (UTC)Uhm...Zoro ate a devil's fruit...the crew was throwing the knives, in an attempt to cut the rope and free him (poorly)...and its because of the devil's fruit that Zoro's head can still talk.
