Calgara does not know how to be kind. He is a warrior; fierce and proud and strong. And he is a leader; noble, determined and wise.
But Calgara is also a man, and though he is cheerful, friendly and loving, he is never kind.
Kindness would mean no sadness is his wife’s eyes, no melancholy kisses in the morning as he leaves her to romance another. Kindness would mean no touches or heated glances, or kisses stolen by a sailor from the Deep Blue Sea. Kindness would mean never loving another.
Calgara is many things, but he is not kind.
