Title: Moving On
Prompt: Change
Word Count: 219
Rating: G
Pairing: Implied Zoro/Sanji
Disclaimer/Warnings: None, surpisingly.
Summary: Sometimes you want what you don't need. And sometimes you don't realise you don't actually want it, either.
Sanji thought, from the moment that ship appeared on the horizon, like a sign proving his destiny to continue, that his dream would remain the same forever. All Blue. Starving on a rock, beyond the limits of human endurance, hadn't stopped him, so what could?
The dream sustained him through building the Baratie, through working crappy hours and serving shitty customers and dealing with the morons that called themselves co-workers. All Blue beckoned. When he became a Mugiwara, with more than obligation and grudging love to sustain him, All Blue still waited at the end.
And then, when the idiot swordsman dragged himself up the side of the Sunny with two fish that shouldn't have been in a thousand-mile range of each other with a grunt of "Fish for dinner, ero-cook?" and ambled off, oblivious to the impossibility of what he'd just caught...
Well, that was when Sanji took a deep breath, lit another cigarette, and said, "Fuck you, Marimo! You think those shitty little things are gonna feed the whole crew?", and stalked to the galley to make a real meal.
But he marked their location on the map first, just in case he ever wanted to come back. He'd found a better dream (or nightmare), even if it needed to stop fuckin' drinking all the good booze.

Date: 2008-11-11 03:15 pm (UTC)You are invited to their (inevitably chaos-ridden) wedding, if only to prove you to that they are, in fact, OTP. So there.
I really need to write that crack SmoSan wedding drabble I've been planning. ^_~
